Manufacturing Excellence Z- Score
The Manufacturing Excellence Z Score is an online self-assessment tool covering 10 key categories of manufacturing excellence, brought to you by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and The Manufacturer.
Each category has 10 criteria with 6 maturity levels, providing a clear framework for companies to assess their manufacturing excellence. Upon completion of the tool you will be able to benchmark your results against other manufacturing businesses.
The tool has been created and peer reviewed by members of IMechE Manufacturing Industries Division Board, and members of The Manufacturer MX Awards judging panel in March 2021.
Instructions
You will first need to create an account before you start the assessment. Click the start button below and you will be taken to the account creation page. You can have multiple profiles associated to one company, so users are able to fill in the parts of the assessment that are relevant to their role.
Once your account is created, you can work through the 10 categories, for which you must choose one of six maturity statements for each question. If you are unsure of your answer at the time, you can click next and move to the next question and come back to any unanswered questions at a later point.
Once you click on your chosen answer, you will automatically move to the next question. You can edit any of your answers at any time before you submit the whole assessment.
Ensure you click the 'Save & Exit' button to save your progress before closing your browser if you wish to complete the questionnaire at a later time. Once you are happy with your answers and have completed all the questions, click complete at the end of the assessment.
After completing your questionnaire, there will be different graphical representations of your answers, giving an overall picture of you business' strengths and areas to improve. Under the 'Digital Maturity & Benchmarking' section, you will be able to compare your results with a sector average.
